OK - enough is enough.

10-20 bots a day is 10-20 too many!

We have enabled reCaptcha today, but so far only for account creation.

Should this prove not to work, we will apply more security on account creation/activation.

Let us know how it works out - the good and the bad. Hopefully it will make the site faster and with less spam.

Enjoy

2009-12-03 13:16 - Poll: Are you a bot? [0 comments]
We're seeing an increasingly number of bots joining our "forces" here at Guildage.

While it's nice with the attention, it's really just taking up space and time for the crew and all real members.

We are investigating how to best reject bots and keep it simple for real users to sign up.

Stay tuned.

Introduction to GEMS

GEMS is an easy to use online web based Guild Event Management System -or- Guild Event Manager System. Thereof the original name GEMS.

Starting in 2005 everyone I knew used a forum based signup system. It did not take long before I saw the need for a new and improved system. And so GEMS was born. Read the full story here.

The plan is to make "everything" a guild would ever need for:

  • planning events / raids easily for signup
  • easy management of all guild relations in one system
  • present a nice and simple public appearance on the web
  • keep track of DKP (Dragon Kill Points)
  • socialize in a free forum
  • share progress tracking server and world wide
  • managing professions (tradeskills), items, bag and bank content, and so forth
See the full todo list here

When you have created an account, you can create as many characters as you want/need to.

Managers can create and change events for members to sign up to and much more.

Do yourself a big favour and login to check out the latest development. You won't be disappointed ;)

As always, you can find the complete list of changes at the changelog.
